Newark, DE – Troopers are currently on the scene of a crash involving a subject who was struck by an Amtrak train in the area of Red Mill Road.

Preliminary investigation reveals the incident occurred around 12:01 p.m. this afternoon when a southbound Amtrak train struck a subject that was on the tracks. The subject has not been identified. The operator was able to bring the train to a stop after the collision.

The investigation into this incident is in the early stages and more information will be released as it becomes available.
