New Castle – The Delaware State Police are currently investigating a shooting that occurred this afternoon.

The preliminary investigation has determined that on Monday, July 30, 2018 at approximately 2:10 p.m., troopers responded to I-95 northbound in the area of Airport Road for an altercation between two male subjects. One male subject sustained a gunshot wound to the upper torso. The other male subject involved was taken into police custody without incident.

The male subject that was shot was removed from the scene and transported by EMS to a local area hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.

Information will be provided as it becomes available.

This incident remains under investigation by the Delaware State Police Criminal Investigations Unit.  If anyone has any information or is a witness in reference to this incident, they are asked to please contact Troop 2 at 302-365-8467.
