Troopers Seek Public’s Assistance in Locating Burglary Suspect – Seaford

Seaford – The Delaware State Police are investigating a burglary and subsequent vehicle theft from a Seaford area auto center that occurred in June, and are asking for the public’s assistance in locating the suspect.

The initial investigation determined that sometime between 2:00 p.m., Saturday June 16 and 7:30 a.m., Monday, June 18, forcible entry was made in to Ed’s Auto Center, located at 26779 Masters Way, Seaford. Once inside the business the suspect gained access to a set of keys to a 2005 Dodge Ram pick-up truck which was parked in the lot and then made off with the vehicle. The vehicle has since been recovered.

Through a variety of investigative leads and measures detectives were able to identify Christopher T. Steimling, 51, of Seaford as a suspect in the burglary and vehicle theft. Warrants were obtained and are currently on file charging Steimling with one count each of: Burglary 3rd Degree, Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Theft under $1500.00, Receiving Stolen Property and Criminal Mischief under $1000.00.

Steimling is known to frequent the areas of Seaford, Delaware and Marydel, Maryland. Anyone with information regarding Steimling’s whereabouts are asked to contact Detective A. Jones at Troop 4 by calling 302-752-3795 or by calling 911.
