*Update* Troopers Investigating Serious Vehicle Crash – Millsboro

Millsboro- Delaware State Police continue to investigate a serious crash involving two vehicles that occurred earlier this morning. 

The incident occurred on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at approximately 8:10 a.m. as a 1998 Jeep Cherokee operated by a 32-year-old male of Salisbury Maryland, was traveling eastbound on Cross Keys Road approaching the intersection of Phillips Hill Road with a posted stop sign.  A 2001 Chevrolet Silverado operated by 41-year-old male of Millsboro, was traveling northbound on Phillips Hill Road approaching the intersection of Cross Keys Road. The operator of the Cherokee failed to stop at the stop sign and entered the intersection directly into the path of the Silverado.  As a result, the front of Silverado struck the right side of the Cherokee. 

The operator of the Cherokee was not properly restrained, and was transported to the Christiana Hospital with critical injuries.

The operator of the Silverado was not properly restrained, and was transported to the Nanticoke Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. 

The roadways were closed for approximately 3 hours while the crash was investigated and cleared. 

No charges have been filed at this time.  The crash continues to remain under investigation by Delaware State Police Troop-4 with assistance from the Sussex County Collision Reconstruction Unit.
