Troopers Arrest Millsboro Man for Attempted Burglary-Millsboro

Millsboro-Delaware State Police with the assistance of Probation and Parole Officers, arrest a Millsboro man for Attempted Burglary and other related charges.

The incident occurred on Monday, June 25, 2018 at approximately 7:15 p.m. when Troopers were dispatched to the 34000 block of Tugboat Court, Rehoboth Shores, for a report of a disorderly subject with a gun.  Upon arrival, Troopers learned that 19-year-old Dwayne A. Barnes was involved in an altercation in the roadway in which he allegedly displayed a BB gun.  Further investigation revealed that Barnes attempted to break into a 21-year-old female’s residence by kicking in the rear door.  The Rehoboth Shores security officer was contacted and made aware of the situation and upon his arrival, he was threatened by Barnes.

Barnes had fled the area prior to the arrival of the Troopers, however was subsequently located by Probation and Parole hiding in a pond off of Tugboat Court and taken into custody without further incident.

Barnes was transported back to Troop 7 where he was charged with Attempt to Commit Burglary Second, Terroristic Threatening, Resisting Arrest, Criminal Mischief, and Disorderly Conduct.  He was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court 3 and released on $12,200.00 unsecured bond.
