Greenwood-The Delaware State Police have arrested a Felton man on burglary charges after he was observed breaking into a garage.
The incident occurred on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at approximately 8:28 a.m. when Troopers were dispatched to the 13000 block of St. Johnstown Road for a report of a burglary in progress called in by a neighbor. Upon arrival to the residence, Troopers located 34-year-old, Jesse A. Nichols hiding in the garage area. It was learned that Jesse’s stepfather currently lives at the residence and Jesse has not lived there for the past 3 to 4 years. Jesse was taken into custody without further incident.
It was later discovered that Jesse had entered the same property on June 6, 2018, and stole several items, including a jewelry box, cuff link, and a Colman cooler. These items were later recovered from Jesse’s vehicle.
Jesse was transported back to Troop 5 where he was charged with Burglary 3rd, Burglary 2nd, and Theft (Felony). He was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $1,495.00 cash only bond.
