Wilmington (19804) – Delaware State Police have arrested Barry R. Cline, 30, of Wilmington on multiple charges, after the unsuccessful burglary attempt of a local liquor store.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:47 a.m., Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at Boxwood Liquors, located at 630 S. Maryland Avenue, Wilmington, when a Trooper, who was on routine patrol in the area, observed a suspicious subject standing in front of the business. When the subject, who was later identified as Cline, observed the Trooper approaching, he attempted to flee on foot, but was taken in to custody without incident.

Upon checking the area, the Trooper discovered a cinder block laying on the sidewalk in front of the business and also observed that the glass, front entrance door had been shattered. Through further investigative measures Cline was able to be positively linked to the burglary attempt.

Cline was transported to Delaware State Police Troop 6, where he was arrested and formally charged with Attempted Burglary 3rd Degree, Criminal Mischief Under $1000.00 and Possession of Burglary Tools. He was then arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court #11 and released on $6100.00 unsecured bail.
