Superintendent Colonel William Crotty
Camden Wyoming-The Delaware State Police have arrested a Camden Wyoming man following an investigation into an alleged sexual abuse complaint.
The investigation began on December 19, 2017 when Troop 3 Major Crimes Unit received information through a DFS 24 hour hotline that a 14-year-old female had reported allegations of sexual abuse. The hotline report indicated that the victim had been impregnated by an adult male. Through further investigations, it was confirmed that the 14-year-old victim was pregnant and she disclosed that the father of the child was 34-year-old Byron P. White of Camden Wyoming. Detectives further discovered that the victim had been in an active sexual relationship with White since May of 2017. The incidences were reported to have occurred at victim’s residence located in Dover.
Investigation revealed that White was a United States Air Force Reservist and was serving on orders at DAFB. An arrest warrant was obtained for White in which he was subsequently taken into custody at DAFB on Tuesday, February 13, 2018. White was transported back to Troop 3 where he was charged with 9 counts of Rape 3rd and Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child. He was arraigned out of the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $200,000.00 secured bond.
Because of the sensitivity of this case, and in consideration of the victim, only limited information will be released.
