Millsboro – The Delaware State Police have arrested a Millsboro man after he assaulted his fiancé and pointed a gun at her.

The incident occurred around 3:26 p.m. on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 when troopers were called to the 24000 block of White Street, Shawns Hideaway, for a physical domestic complaint.  Further investigation revealed that during the altercation, the victim was dragged by her hair and choked by her fiancé, identified as 53-year-old Mark R. Reedy of Millsboro.  Reedy then obtained a black semi-automatic handgun from inside the residence and struck the victim on the back of her head, while indicating that he was going to kill her and himself.  The victim was able to flee on foot to a neighbor’s residence where she was subsequently taken to a local hospital and treated for assault related injuries.

Prior to the police arrival, Reedy had fled the residence on a golf cart and was later located riding around the park in the camping section of the development.  Reedy was taken into custody without incident.  A black semi-automatic handgun was recovered and seized from the residence where the incident occurred.

Reedy was transported back to Troop 7 where he was charged with Aggravated Menacing, Strangulation, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Assault 3rd, Terroristic Threatening, and Unlawful Imprisonment.  He was arraigned out of the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $65,000 secured bond.
