Troopers Make Multiple Arrest in Home Invasion-Camden Wyoming

Camden WyomingThe Delaware State Police have arrested four suspects in connection with a Home Invasion that occurred yesterday afternoon.

On Thursday, January 18, 2018, at approximately 1:45 p.m., Troopers responded to the 1600 block of Mahan Corner Road in reference to a report of a Home Invasion. The investigation revealed that a 45-year-old male was in a back room in his residence when he heard loud noises.  As the victim proceeded to exit the bedroom to investigate, he was confronted by a subject who was pointing a baseball bat at him.  The suspect indicated that he was there to confront the victim’s nephew who was not at the residence during this incident.  There was also two other suspects in the residence at this time, one of which was wearing a mask and also displayed a baseball bat.  The victim was able to flee from his residence unharmed, when he witnessed a fourth suspect seated in a vehicle that was parked in his driveway.  After the suspects fled in their vehicle, the victim returned to his residence and found extensive damage to his front door and interior of the house along with missing property.

Through investigative measures, Detectives were able to identify the suspects as 49-year-old Kim Forsythe of Magnolia, 25-year-old Dorian Pierce of Magnolia, 26-year-old Desmond Abernathy of Magnolia, and 17-year-old Isiah Forsythe of Dover.  A search warrant was obtained on an apartment in the unit block of Flagstick Lane, Magnolia, in which all four suspects were taken into custody and transported back to Troop 3.  All four suspects were arraigned at the Justice of the Peace Court 7 and charged with Home Invasion, Robbery 1st, Theft, Criminal Mischief, Conspiracy 2nd and Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony. Desmond Abernathy was also charged with Resisting Arrest and an additional charge of Wearing a Disguise during the Commission of a Felony.  Isiah Forsythe was also charged with Resisting Arrest.

Kim Forsythe was committed to the Baylor Women’s Correctional Institute on $61,750.00 secured bond. Dorian Pierce was committed to the Baylor Women’s Correctional Institute on $62,000.00 secured bond.  Desmond Abernathy was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $65,000.00 secured bond, and Isiah Forsythe was committed to Stevenson House on $62,500.00 secured bond.
