Troopers Investigating Stabbing – Newark

Newark – Delaware State Police are investigating a stabbing which occurred in the parking lot of a Newark area bar early this morning.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:35 a.m., Saturday, January 13, 2018, in the parking lot of Tailgates Bar, located at 4125 Ogletown-Stanton Road, Newark.

While in the parking lot, a 38 year old male subject from Wilmington, became involved in a verbal altercation with a 23 year old female from Maryland. The altercation turned physical and resulted in the female stabbing the male.

The male subject was transported to the Christiana Hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is active and ongoing with further details being released as they become available.
