Troopers Investigating Armed Robbery of North Wilmington BP Station

Wilmington (19802) – Delaware State Police are investigating the armed robbery of a North Wilmington BP station that occurred Christmas night.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:35 p.m., Monday, December 25, 2017, at the BP gas station, located at 3507 Miller Road, Wilmington, when a subject approached the clerk at the counter and attempted to purchase cigarettes. The employee, a 32 year old Wilmington woman, asked for the subjects ID, at which time he reached into his jacket pocket, produced a black handgun and demanded cash from the register. The employee complied with the demand, and turned over an undisclosed amount of money to the subject, who then fled on foot towards the Miller Road Shopping Center. The employee was not injured as a result of the incident.

The suspect is described as a black male in his early twenties, 5’4” – 5’6” tall, with a thin build, wearing a black jacket over a gray hoodie, black hat, and bright blue jeans, possessing a black unknown make and model handgun. 

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Sgt. A. Lloyd of the Troop 2 Robbery Unit at 302-365-8403.
