State Police Drug Investigation Leads to Two Arrests-Clayton

Clayton– The Delaware State Police Kent County Drug Unit assisted by the Kent County Governor’s Task Force (GTF) and the Delaware State Police Special Operations Response Team (S.O.R.T) concluded a drug investigation with the arrest of two people.

The month long investigation concluded on Wednesday, December 13, 2017, when members of the Kent County Drug Unit assisted by the Kent County GTF and the DSP  S.O.R.T executed a narcotics search warrant in the 1400 block of Holletts Corner Road.  Upon entry to the residence, two suspects identified as 54-year-old Darlene N. Reed of Clayton and 53-year-old Donald L. Reed of Clayton were taken into custody without incident.

A search of the property resulted in the recovery of (0.81) grams of Heroin, (9) 8 milligram Suboxone strips, (8) 12 milligram Suboxone strips, 57 rounds of .22 caliber ammunition, and multiple drug paraphernalia items.

Darlene Reed was charged with two counts of Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance, Conspiracy 2nd Degree, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  She was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to the Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on $18,500.00 secured bond.

Donald Reed was charged with two counts of Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance, Conspiracy 2nd Degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Ammunition by a Person Prohibited.  He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on $13,500.00 unsecured bond.
