Troopers Investigating Robbery of Naamans Road Walgreens

Wilmington (19810) – Delaware State Police are currently investigating the robbery of a Walgreens pharmacy, that occurred over the weekend.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:06 p.m., Sunday, December 10, 2017, at the Walgreens pharmacy, located at 1601 Naamans Road, Wilmington, as two employees who had just closed the business, were preparing to leave for the night. As one of the employees, a 27 year old Wilmington woman, was exiting through the main entrance doors, she was forced back inside the business and knocked to the ground by a male suspect, who then ordered her to give him an undisclosed prescription drug. The suspect then confronted the second employee, a 37 year old Wilmington woman, and ordered her to open the safe, at which time he removed numerous types and quantities of prescription drugs. After obtaining the drugs the suspect fled via the entrance door in an unknown direction. Neither victim was injured as a result of the incident.

The suspect was described as a black male, 6’00”-6″2″ tall, with a large build. He was wearing a black jacket, black pants, and a blue hat. The suspect never displayed or implied that he had a weapon.

No surveillance video footage is available at this time.
