Troopers Seek Public’s Assistance in Hit and Run Crash Involving Pedestrian

Dover– The Delaware State Police is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the vehicle involved in a hit and run crash in which a pedestrian was struck last evening.

The incident occurred around 9 p.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2017 when an unknown vehicle was traveling on McKee Road just west of Fork Branch Road.  A pedestrian, 34-year-old man from Dover was walking on the right shoulder of McKee Road with the flow of traffic.  As the vehicle approached the curve in the roadway, its front bumper struck the back of the pedestrian and subsequently ran over his foot.  The vehicle was only described as a newer passenger car.

The 34-year-old pedestrian who wore dark clothing and not carrying a light was removed from the scene by EMS and transported to a local hospital where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The State Police is continuing their investigation into this incident and asks anyone with information to please contact Corporal D.
