State Police Drug Investigation Leads to Multiple Arrests-Dagsboro

Dagsboro– The Delaware State Police Sussex County Governor’s Task Force (GTF) has arrested four suspects in connection with illegal drug activity at a residence in Diamond Acres.

The initial investigation began On October 31, 2017, after Sussex GTF had received numerous complaints regarding drug activity and drug distribution occurring at a residence located on the 30000 block of Iron Branch Road.  Several individuals were arrested on this date for drug dealing and weapons charges after 31 bags (0.217 grams) of heroin, 2.36 grams of cocaine, a .22 caliber rifle and ammunition were seized.

On Tuesday, November 21, 2017, Sussex GTF again responded to the same residence after receiving additional reports of drug activity continuing at the property. Upon arrival, GTF members contacted several individuals to include; 34-year-old Hasan Oney of Millsboro, 21-year-old Edward Thomas of Millsboro,  26-year-old Keion Sturgis of Dagsboro and 45-year-old Lynnell Drummond of Dagsboro .  A subsequent consent search resulted in the seizure of 390 bags (2.73 grams) of heroin and over $3,000.00 of suspected drug proceeds.

The four suspects were transported to Troop 4. Oney was charged with Subsequent Offense Drug Dealing Heroin, Bribing a Witness, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  He was arraigned out of JP3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $65,250.00 cash bond.  Thomas was charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Providing a False Statement to Police.  He was arraigned out of JP3 and released on $2,500.00 unsecured bond.  Sturgis was charged with Maintaining a Drug Property and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  He was arraigned out of JP3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $3,250.00 cash bond.  Drummond was charged with Maintaining a Drug Property.  She was arraigned out of JP3 and released on $3,000.00 unsecured bond.
