Woodside- The Delaware State Police are investigating a motor vehicle crash that occurred on Upper King Road between Olin Dill Road and Main Street, Woodside. The road was shut down due to a utility pole that was severed with wires down.

The initial investigation has determined the crash occurred at approximately 4:58 a.m., Saturday morning, November 04, 2017, as Troyvaliant Rahssan Worthy, 24 of Greenwood, was operating a 2004 GMC Envoy southbound on Upper King Road south of Main Street, Woodside. The vehicle ran off the east side of the road traveling southbound in the yard of a residence on Upper King Road and struck a culvert with its front center of the vehicle. The vehicle continued south into another yard and struck a Delmarva Power utility pole with its front end, at which time the vehicle rolled onto its roof and faced westbound.

Troyvaliant Rahssan Worthy, 24 of Greenwood, was wearing his seatbelt. He was treated by paramedics and transported by the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit to the Christiana Hospital Trauma Center where he was admitted with serious but non-life threatening injuries. After evidence revealed he was under the influence, a DUI investigation was initiated and he was subsequently charged with Driving A Vehicle Under The Influence Of Alcohol and Failed To Remain Within A Single Lane.

Upper King Road in the area of the crash was impacted for several hours as the crash was investigated and cleared.
