Rehoboth- Delaware State Police are currently on scene of a fatal motor vehicle crash on Coastal Highway in the area of Old Landing Road.  Southbound Coastal Highway south of Old Landing Road is completely shut down.

The initial investigation has determined that the crash occurred at approximately 7:49 p.m. this evening, Wednesday, October 25, 2017 on southbound Coastal Highway at Old Landing Road, and involves a passenger car and a pedestrian.  As a result of the crash, the pedestrian has been declared dead at the scene.

The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is enroute to the scene and will assume the investigation.  Expect delays in the area and seek alternate routes of travel. Further details will be released as they become available.
