Bridgeville – A Bridgeville man was arrested for illegal drug possession after heroin and cocaine were located during a traffic stop.
The incident occurred around 11:39 a.m. Tuesday September 26, 2017 as a trooper on patrol in the area of North Mill Park Drive observed a tan Chevrolet Caprice stopped in the roadway with a subject standing at the driver’s side window. The trooper observed the operator not wearing a seatbelt as the car started to drive away, and after making a U-turn the trooper was able to perform a traffic stop. Willie W. Massey, 33 of Bridgeville, was contacted as he exited his vehicle and a computer check revealed his driver’s license was suspended and he had two capiases out of Sussex County courts. A search of where Massey was standing once he exited the vehicle revealed numerous bundles of suspected heroin and a bag of suspected crack cocaine. Upon arriving back at Troop 5, Massey was removed from the rear seat of the patrol vehicle and more bundles of heroin were located on the seat. In total, 221 bags (1.547 grams) of heroin, 13.51 grams of crack cocaine, and more than $2,100.00 in suspected drug proceeds were seized.
Willie Massie was charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance (Crack Cocaine), Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance (Heroin), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Crack Cocaine), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Heroin), Tampering with Physical Evidence, two counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Driving While Suspended or Revoked, Failure to Insurance in Possession, Stopping in Roadway, along with other traffic related offenses. He was arraigned at JP2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $45,602.00 secure bond.
