Sandtown – The Delaware State Police are currently on the scene of a fatal hit and run pedestrian crash.

The incident occurred around 9:07 p.m. Tuesday September 5, 2017 in the area of the 1000 block of Willow Grove Road (SR10) east of Sandtown Road and involves a pedestrian struck by a car.  The pedestrian has been pronounced dead at the scene and the unknown type of car has fled westbound on SR10, possibly into Maryland.

SR10 between Sandtown Road and Mahon Corner Road is currently closed in the area.  Commuters should expect delays in the area and find alternate routes of travel.
