Wilmington – The Delaware State Police are currently investigating a personal injury crash involving a vehicle and a light pole which has forced the partial closure of Kirkwood Highway.

The initial investigation has determined that the crash occurred at approximately 11:25 a.m. on westbound DE Rt. 2 (Kirkwood Highway) at Albertson Drive, and involves a vehicle which struck and knocked over a light pole. Injuries have been reported in the crash, however, the nature and extent of those injuries is unknown at this time.

As a result of the crash, the westbound lanes of DE Rt. 2 have been closed to traffic at Albertson Boulevard. Commuters are asked to find alternate routes of travel.

The investigation into this crash is in its early stages. Further details will be released upon the conclusion of the investigation.
