Dover – The Delaware State Police Criminal Investigations Unit is currently investigating an incident at Alder Park Apartments in which two people were assaulted and shots were fired.

The incident occurred around 1:25 a.m. Friday September 1, 2017 when troopers responded to 51 Webbs Lane, “K” building for a report of shots fired.  As troopers and officers from Dover Police Department arrived on scene, multiple people and vehicles were observed fleeing from the area.  Through the investigation it was determined that there was a party taking place in one of the apartments when an argument ensued between two unknown males in the living room.  A 20-year-old female attempted to break up the argument when one of the male suspects struck her in the forehead with a handgun.  The same suspect also struck a 20-year-old male on his forehead.  At some point, the suspect discharged the firearm inside the apartment.

Both victims were transported to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital where they were treated and released with non-life-threatening injuries.

No other injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5’06”-5’07” tall, 200-210 pounds, with a beard, wearing a white t-shirt and khaki pants (No further physical or clothing description).   Armed with an unknown type handgun.
