Troopers Seek Public’s Assistance in Identifying Burglary Suspect

Wilmington, DE– Delaware State Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect who committed multiple burglaries and preyed upon numerous residents of an assisted living community in Wilmington, Delaware.

On Saturday, July 1, 2017, at approximately 3:00 p.m., the suspect approached a female who had just unlocked a door to the facility to enter. The suspect held the door for the female to allow her to enter, and then made entry behind her. Once inside the facility, the suspect burglarized numerous rooms which were unlocked. Some of the victim’s rooms were unoccupied while the suspect confronted victims in other rooms and identified himself as an employee and a flower delivery person. Property was removed from rooms by the suspect which consisted of cherished keepsakes, jewelry, an undisclosed amount of USC and credit cards. The stolen credit cards were then used by the same suspect at stores in Media, PA and along MacDade Boulevard in the area of Glenolden, PA.

The suspect was described as a black male, approximately 45-50 years of age, 5’11”-6’02” tall wearing dark work style pants, a long sleeve blue shirt bearing a University of Dayton emblem and the words “Dayton Fliers” across the back shoulder area in white, brown Sperry shoes and a tan ball cap with Velcro patches on the front and back. The suspect was operating a small white passenger car.
