Troopers Investigate Gas Station Robbery – Newark

Newark- The Delaware State Police is currently investigating the robbery of a Newark area Shell gas station that occurred last night.

The initial investigation has determined the incident occurred at approximately 9:13 p.m., Saturday, July 8, 2017, as an armed male suspect entered the Shell Gas Station located at 668 Paper Mill Road, Newark. The suspect confronted the clerk and demanded money from the cash registers. The suspect displayed what appeared to be an unknown make and model handgun. The employee complied with the suspect’s demands and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to him. The suspect then exited the business and fled in an unknown direction. There were no injuries.

The suspect was described as a white male approximately 5’09” to 5’11” tall, weighed 160 to 170 lbs., approximately 20-25 years of age with his face covered. There is no further physical or clothing description available. No video surveillance footage is available at this time.
