Troopers Investigate Parking Lot Robbery

Wilmington (19805)- Delaware State Police are currently investigating the armed robbery of a subject which occurred in the parking lot of a Wilmington area shopping center yesterday afternoon.

The initial investigation has determined that the incident occurred on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at approximately 4:00 p.m., as a male victim was walking in the parking lot of the Canby Park Shopping Center, located at 1904 Maryland Avenue. It was at this time that the victim was approached by two male suspects. One of the suspects displayed an unknown make and model handgun and pointed it at the victim, demanding cash and jewelry. The victim complied with the suspect’s demands and turned over the property to him. Both suspects then fled from the area on foot and were last seen running toward the Alban Park Apartments. The victim was not injured.

The suspect with the gun was described as a black male. He was 5’10” tall, weighed 160-170 lbs., had a muscular build, and was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and navy blue cut-off shorts.

The second suspect was described as a black male. He was 6’00” tall, weighed approximately 160 lbs, had a thin build, and was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and sweatpants.
