Troopers Arrest Camden Man for Vehicle Theft

Camden – The Delaware State Police arrested a Camden man for stealing a car from a driveway of a local area neighborhood.

On Sunday, May 28, 2017 at approximately 9:50 a.m., a trooper on proactive patrol in the area of South Governors Avenue observed a stolen Honda Civic from the unit block of Falcon Drive, Camden. The trooper recognized this vehicle from a reported theft that occurred the day before on Saturday, May 27, 2017. The vehicle was traveling northbound on South Governors Avenue and made a left onto Webbs Lane and failed to signal.  The trooper conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle at Webbs Lane near Nathaniel Mitchell Road.  The driver was taken into custody without incident and later identified as Eric C. Andrews, 29 of Camden. Andrews stated at the time of the theft the vehicle was unlocked with the key in the ignition.

Eric C. Andrews was arrested and transported to Troop 3, Camden were he was charged with Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Driving While Suspended, Failure to have Insurance and Registration and Failure to Signal. He was arraigned before Justice of the Peace Court 7 and committed to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in default of $702.00 secured bond.
