Kent County Drug Unit Arrest Dover Man After Heroin Investigation

Dover – The Delaware State Police Kent County Drug Unit has arrested a Dover man following an on going drug investigation.

Detectives assigned to the Drug Unit, along with the Kent County Governor’s Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) of Dover, conducted a search warrant at a residence in the unit block of Laws Lane around 5:56 p.m., Wednesday March 29, 2017.  Upon conducting the search, detectives located a total of 843 bags of heroin (5.901 grams) as well as a small caliber handgun, a shotgun, and a fully loaded AK47 rifle.

Robert Reed, 20, was taken into custody during a traffic stop and found to be in possession of 9 bags (0.063 grams) of heroin and 7 Benzodiazepines prescription pills.  He was transported back to Troop 3 where he was charged with two counts of Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance (Heroin), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Heroin), Possession of a Controlled Substance Without a Prescription, Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Person Prohibited, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Reed was arraigned at JP2 and committed to James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $47,000.00 secured bond.
