New Castle – Delaware State Police have arrested two Wilmington men and charged them in connection with a series of burglaries that have occurred over the course of the last month and a half.
On Friday, March 17, 2017, Delaware State Police Burglary Unit Detectives arrested Ferdell F. Harvey, 57, and Timothy M. Reason Jr., 32, both of Wilmington, without incident during a traffic stop following a burglary they were observed committing at the Speedway gas station, located at 506 N. Dupont Hwy, New Castle . Detectives had developed Harvey and Reason as suspects in a series of burglaries that had occurred at area businesses during the month of February and March of this year. During the burglaries, Harvey and Reason would forcefully enter the establishments and remove cartons of cigarettes before fleeing the area. In all, more than $23,000.00 worth of cigarettes and tobacco products were stolen.
The following is a list of locations that were burglarized:
Ferdell Harvey and Timothy Reason were both charged by detectives with seven counts of Burglary 3rd, two counts of Attempted Burglary 3rd, eight counts of Possession of Burglary Tools, Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony, six counts of Theft, Attempted Theft, nine counts of Conspiracy 2nd, and eight counts of Criminal Mischief. They were arraigned at JP Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in default of $105,800.00 cash bail (Harvey) and $87,700.00 cash bail (Reason).
