Troopers Investigating Robbery of Chinese Restaurant – Newark

Newark (19713)- Delaware State Police are currently investigating the robbery of a Newark area Chinese Restaurant that occurred last night.

The initial investigation has determined that the incident happened at approximately 9:45 p.m., on Thursday, March 9, 2017, as a male suspect entered the Great Wall Chinese Restaurant located at 21 W. Chestnut Hill Plaza. The suspect approached the sales counter and presented a female employee with a demand note for cash. The suspect implied that he was armed, however, a weapon was not displayed. The female victim turned over a tip jar containing an undisclosed amount of money to the suspect, who then exited the business and fled in an unknown direction. The clerk was not injured.

The suspect was described as a white male. He was 6’00”-6’03” tall, weighed 160-180 lbs., and was last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, and dark shoes. No further physical or clothing description is available.
