Troopers Investigate Gas Station Robbery

Wilmington (19803)- Delaware State Police are currently investigating the armed robbery of a Brandywine Hundred area gas station that occurred early yesterday morning.

The investigation thus far has determined that the incident happened at approximately 3:20 a.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, as a male suspect entered the Exxon gas station located at 5301 Concord Pike. The suspect brandished a knife and responded behind the sales counter where he then confronted a male clerk. He then demanded money from the cash register. The clerk complied with the suspect’s demands and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to him. The suspect then removed an undisclosed amount of lottery tickets and cigarettes from display before exiting the business and entering the driver’s seat of an unknown make and model passenger vehicle. He then fled in an unknown direction. The clerk was not injured.

The suspect was described as a black male. He was 30-40 years of age, 6’01”-6’02” tall, weighed 200-220 lbs., and was last seen wearing a red jacket, tan pants, and a red hat. There is no further physical or clothing description available. No video surveillance photos are available to be released at this time.
