Troopers Investigate Restaurant Robbery

Bear- Delaware State Police are currently investigating the armed robbery of a Bear area restaurant that occurred early this morning.

The initial investigation has determined that the incident occurred at approximately 12:38 a.m. this morning, Sunday, January 29, 2017, as two male suspects confronted two employees of the Hibachi Restaurant, located at 1160 Pulaski Highway, Bear, as the employees were closing the business for the night. One of the suspects displayed an unknown make and model handgun and ordered the victims to open the doors to the restaurant. After the victims unlocked the doors, the suspects forced them back inside and escorted them to the office area. It was at this point that the suspects proceeded to remove cash from the business safe. They then demanded and received cash and cell phones belonging to the victims before fleeing out of the rear door of the restaurant. The suspects were last seen running toward Bear-Corbitt Road. There were no injuries.

The first suspect was described as a black male. He was last seen wearing a blue sweatshirt, black jacket, dark colored jeans, white sneakers, and had a cloth partially covering his face. He was also armed with a gun.

The second suspect was also described as a black male. He was last seen wearing a red jacket, light-colored jeans, and dark sneakers. He also had a cloth partially covering his face.

There is no further physical or clothing description for either suspect available at this time. There is no video surveillance footage available.
