Home Invasion Investigation in Rodney Village

Dover – The Delaware State Police are investigating a home invasion that occurred in the Rodney Village Development.

The incident occurred around 7:20 p.m., Thursday January 26, 2017 when three male subjects entered the front door of a residence located in the 1000 block of Nathaniel Mitchell Road.  The suspects confronted a 77-year-old female who had just walked out of her bedroom after hearing the door open.  One of the suspects was armed with unknown type handgun and demanded her money while another was in the basement of the house ransacking a room.  The three then left the residence without any cash, and it is unknown at this time if anything was stolen.  The 77-year-old female, who was home alone at the time, was uninjured.

The three suspects were only described as males.  The first was reported to be approximately 5’05” – 5’06” tall wearing all black clothing.  The second suspect was described as being approximately 5’09”-5’10” tall, weighing 220 lbs. wearing all dark clothing.  There was no description of the third.  No further physical or clothing description available.  One suspect was armed with an unknown type handgun.
