Troopers Investigating McDonald's Restaurant Robbery

Wilmington (19803)- Delaware State Police are currently investigating the armed robbery of a Wilmington area McDonald’s Restaurant that occurred early yesterday afternoon.

The investigation thus far has determined that the incident happened on Monday, January 23, 2017 at approximately 12:34 p.m., as a male suspect entered the McDonald’s Restaurant located at 2507 Concord Pike. The suspect then approached a male employee who was standing behind the sales counter and presented him with a demand note for cash. He then displayed an unknown make and model handgun to the employee. The employee then responded to the rear of the business where he contacted the restaurant manager and advised him of the robbery. The manager responded to the sales counter where he then provided the suspect with an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register. The suspect then exited the business and was last seen fleeing in an eastbound direction on Prospect Drive. There were no injuries.

The suspect was described as a white male. He was 16-20 years of age, 5’06”-5’08” tall, weighed 110-120 lbs., and was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, black shoes, and had a mask partially covering his face. There is no further physical or clothing description available at this time and no video surveillance photos are available to be released at this time.
