Troopers Investigate Parking Lot Robbery

Wilmington (19808) – The Delaware State Police are currently investigating an armed robbery which occurred in the parking lot of a Wilmington area shopping center yesterday evening.

The initial investigation has determined that the incident occurred on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at approximately 6:18 p.m., as a male victim was in the process of clearing snow off of his vehicle which was parked in front of the Moe’s Southwest Grill, located at 4717 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington. It was then that the victim was approached by a male suspect who demanded that he turn over his property to him. The victim then began to struggle with the suspect and subsequently ended up on the ground. The suspect then produced a knife which caused the victim to stop struggling. He then proceeded to remove an undisclosed amount of money from the victim’s pocket before fleeing on foot. The suspect was last seen running with a second unidentified male suspect  in a westbound direction along Kirkwood Highway toward Limestone. The victim was not injured.

The suspect was described as a black male. He was 25-35 years of age, 5’11”-6’01” tall, weighed 200-225 lbs., and was last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, black jacket, dark pants, and had a mask covering his face. There is no further physical or clothing description available. No video surveillance photos are available at this time.
