Troopers Investigate Shots Fired Complaint – Harrington

Harrington- Delaware State Police are currently investigating the report of shots fired which occurred last night during a large party at a residence in Harrington.

The investigation began at approximately 10:00 p.m. last night, Friday, January 6, 2017, after troopers were called to respond to a report of shots fired at a residence located in the 500 block of Cloverfield Lane, Harrington. Upon their arrival, Troopers assigned to Troop 3  were met with a large disorderly crowd and immediately asked for assistance from Troop 4, Troop 7, and the Milford Police Department. The crowd was subsequently dispersed.

Troopers learned that during the party, an altercation occurred at which time two unknown black male suspects produced weapons and fired an unknown amount of rounds. Both suspects then fled from the party in a vehicle in an unknown direction. Several shell casing were located at the scene, however, there were no reports of any injuries, and no weapons were found.

As troopers were still conducting their investigation, a male subject, identified as Tiki J. Smack, 19, of Bridgeville, arrived at the home. A subsequent computer check revealed that Smack was wanted by the Delaware State Police in connection with the shooting of a 19 year old female which had occurred during an altercation at a residence located in Felton in June of 2016.

Tiki Smack was arrested and transported to Troop 3 where he was charged with Assault 1st Degree, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Reckless Endangering 1st degree, and Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited. He was arraigned at JP Court 7 and committed to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Institution in default of $75,000.00 secured bail.

The investigation into the shooting at the Cloverfield Lane home is on-going. If anyone has any information in reference to this incident they are asked to contact the Criminal Investigative Unit at Troop 3 at 302-697-4454. **Original Release From June 2016 Shooting**

Felton, DE – Troopers are currently investigating a shooting that occurred early this morning near Felton.

The preliminary investigation revealed the incident occurred at approximately 3:19 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2016, in the unit block of Weatherstone Lane, Felton, as a 9-1-1 call was made reporting multiple shots fired during a party at a residence. Troopers arrived on scene, secured the area and contacted several witnesses as they attempted to leave the location.

Shortly after the report of shots fired, one victim, a 15 year old female arrived at the Frederica Volunteer Fire Department by privately owned vehicle with a gunshot wound to the upper torso. EMS transported the victim to a local area hospital where she is listed in stable condition. The victim was not believed to be the intended target of the shooting.

Delaware State Police detectives conducted multiple interviews which revealed that an argument occurred outside of the residence. As several subjects were leaving, the argument escalated into a fight and shots were fired subsequently striking the victim.

The suspect is described as a skinny black male approximately 17-20 years of age, 5’08” to 5’ 10” tall with a white t-shirt.

The Delaware State Police Criminal Investigations Unit assigned to Troop 3 is currently investigating this incident. The investigation is in the early stages and more information will be released when it becomes available.
