**Original Release**

Wilmington – Delaware State Police are currently investigating a vehicle fire involving a loaded trailer which has caused the closure of I-495 in Wilmington.

The initial investigation has determined that the incident occurred at approximately 8:50 p.m. this evening on northbound I-495 north of 12th Street, Wilmington, and involves the trailer portion of a tractor-trailer which has become completely engulfed in flames. Fire department personnel are currently at the scene and are working to extinguish the fire. There are no injuries.

As a result of the fire, the northbound lanes of I-495 have been closed and commuters are asked to find alternate routes of travel. At this time it is unknown how long the roadway will be closed.
