Troopers Investigate Burglary with Shots Fired

Selbyville- Delaware State Police are currently investigating a residential burglary in which shots were fired at the homeowner that occurred early this morning.

The initial investigation has determined that the incident occurred this morning, Sunday, November 27, 2016 at approximately 2:21 a.m., as a male suspect entered a residence located in the 32000 block of Sanbru Lane, Selbyville. The suspect then proceeded to remove a pair of guns from a room inside of the house. He then located and removed a third gun from inside of a table drawer. As this was occurring, a 67 year old occupant of the home awoke and confronted the suspect. He then chased the suspect out of the house.  As he was fleeing, the suspect fired two shots from one of the guns which caused the homeowner to retreat back into the residence. The suspect then fled in an unknown direction. There were no injuries.

During a subsequent search of the area, troopers were able to recover two of the three guns, ammunition, and numerous coins which had been dropped by the suspect as he fled the area.

This incident remains under investigation by the Delaware State Police. A suspect description is not available to be released at this time.
