Newark, DE – Troopers are currently on the scene of crash involving a pedestrian who was killed after being struck by an Amtrak train north of Harmony Road.

Preliminary investigation reveals the incident occurred around 3:43 p.m. this afternoon when a northbound Amtrak commuter train struck a pedestrian that was on the tracks. The subject, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.  The conductor was able to bring the train to a stop after the collision.

The investigation into this incident is in the early stages and more information will be released when it becomes available.
