State Police Investigating an Attempted Robbery at a Rehoboth Area Home

Rehoboth – The Delaware State Police are investigating the attempted robbery of a 66-year-old female at her residence.

The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday November 15, 2016 when a male subject knocked on the door of a residence in the 100 block of Truitt Avenue.  When the 66-year-old female homeowner answered the door, she was confronted by the male brandishing an unknown type handgun.  The suspect demanded the woman’s purse and when she went to retrieve it, the suspect fled before she returned to the door.  It is unknown if the suspect departed upon hearing the victim’s 34-year-old son who was in the residence at that time.  The female was uninjured in this incident.

The suspect was described as a black male, 25-30 years of age, 5’04”-5’06” tall, 140-160 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes, wearing a dark jacket, grey hooded sweatshirt, and a scarf covering his face (No further physical or clothing description).  The suspect was armed with an unknown type handgun.
