Troopers Investigate Serious Motor Vehicle Crash – Newark

Newark, DE – The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating a serious crash with a single vehicle that occurred east of Newark early this morning.

The preliminary investigation revealed the incident occurred around 12:48 a.m. Saturday October 29, 2016 as a 17 year old female of Newark was operating a 2003 Nissan Altima northbound on Redmill Road near Old Redmill Road, Newark. For unknown reasons the driver lost control and slid off of the east side of the road. The left side of the Altima struck a tree.

The driver a 17 year old female of Newark was treated by the New Castle County paramedics and transported to the Christiana Hospital Medical Center for her serious injuries where she was admitted in critical condition.

This crash remains under investigation by the Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit. Redmill Road and Old Redmill Road the area of the collision was impacted for approximately 2 ½ hours as the crash was investigated and cleared.
