**Traffic Advisory** Troopers Investigating Crash Involving Overturned Tractor Trailer – Update

New Castle, DE- Delaware State Police continue to investigate a crash involving an overturned tractor-trailer that occurred last night in New Castle.

The investigation has determined that the crash occurred on Monday, October 24, 2016, at approximately 9:30 p.m., as Travis A. Clark, 32, of Ephrata, PA, was operating a 1991 International tractor and trailer loaded with 15 cows, and was traveling on the ramp from DE Rt. 141 (Basin Road) southbound onto I-295 eastbound. As the tractor-trailer entered onto the merge lane at the bottom of the ramp, it struck an attenuator causing it to overturn onto its left hand side before coming to rest.

Travis Clark, who was properly restrained at the time of the crash, was not injured. He was cited by troopers with Operating an Improperly Loaded Vehicle.

The 15 cows were removed from the scene by a pet removal company.

The ramp from DE Rt. 141 southbound to I-295 eastbound was closed for approximately 6.5 hours as the crash was investigated and cleared.

New Castle, DE- Delaware State Police are currently investigating a single vehicle crash involving an overturned tractor-trailer which occurred tonight.

The initial investigation has determined that the crash happened at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Monday, October 24, 2016, on I-295 northbound under DE Rt. 141 (Basin Road), New Castle, and involves a tractor-trailer loaded with an unknown number of cows. The operator of the truck was not injured. It is unknown if any of the cows were injured, however, they all remained in the trailer.

The ramp from DE Rt 141 southbound to I-295 northbound has been closed and commuters are asked to find alternate routes of travel.

The investigation into this crash is in its early stages. More information will be released at a later time.
