Wilmington, De.- Troopers are investigating the robbery of a Wilmington area Goodwill store that occurred this afternoon.
The preliminary investigation revealed the incident occurred at approximately 3:40 p.m. Saturday, October 15, 2016 as troopers and Newport Police responded to a robbery at the Goodwill store located at 300 East Lea Boulevard, Wilmington. The two suspects entered the store and pretended to be customers while waiting for closing time. The suspects approached the cashier’s counter and confronted the clerks with a large knife and a garden tool and demanded money from the cash registers. The clerks complied with the suspect’s demands and turned over an undisclosed amount of money. Both suspects fled from the store on foot across Lea Boulevard disappearing into the tree line at the edge of the woods just west of the entrance to Colony North. The employees were not injured.
The suspects were described as black males approximately 17 to 20 years old, 5’06” to 5’ 08” tall. Both suspects had a thin build and weighed between 120 to 140 lbs. The first suspect with the knife was wearing dark pants and t-shirt and the second suspect with the garden tool was wearing blue jeans and a dark coat.
