Troopers Investigate Pet Store Robbery-Newark

Newark, DE- Delaware State Police are currently investigating the robbery of a Newark area Pet Store that occurred last evening.

The initial investigation has determined that the incident happened at approximately 7:49 p.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2016, as a male suspect entered the Pet Valu, pet store located at 604 Plaza Drive in the Four Seasons Plaza, Newark. The suspect approached a male employee and presented him with a demand note for cash. The suspect implied he had a weapon however, a weapon was never displayed. The employee complied with the suspect’s demands and turned over an undisclosed amount of money to him. The suspect then ran out of the store in an unknown direction. There were no injuries.

The suspect is described as a black male, 15-16 years of age. He was 5’05”-5’06” tall, and was last seen wearing a dark colored sweatshirt with his face partially covered with dark colored pants.
