State Police Investigate Robbery with a Knife-Wilmington

Wilmington, De.- Troopers are investigating the robbery of a Wilmington area Goodwill store that occurred this afternoon.

The investigation revealed the incident occurred at approximately 1:05 p.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2016 as troopers were called to a robbery at the Goodwill store located at 300 East Lea Boulevard, Wilmington. The suspect entered the store and approached the cashier’s counter. He confronted an employee and displayed a knife at which point he demanded money from the cash registers as well as clothing items. The clerk complied with the suspect’s demands and turned over an undisclosed amount of money and clothing from the store. The suspect then fled from the store on foot and was last seen westbound on East Lea Boulevard in the direction of Philadelphia Pike. The employee was not injured.

The suspect was described as a black male approximately 20 to 26 years old, 5’10” to 6’ 00” tall, 160 to 180 lbs., wearing a dark colored jacket with dark pants armed with a knife.
