Troopers Investigate Shots Fired Complaint

New Castle, DE – Delaware State Police are currently investigating an incident in which several shots were fired at a home in New Castle early this morning.

The investigation began this morning, Monday, September 5, 2016, after troopers were told to respond to a residence located in the unit block of Tyne Drive, Coventry Development, New Castle, for the report of shots being fired at the home. Upon their arrival, troopers were advised by a male resident that at approximately 1:30 a.m. this morning, while he was sleeping, he heard several shots being fired outside of his home. The homeowner awoke later in the morning and discovered that water was draining from a bullet hole in the water pump and wall to his above ground pool. He also discovered a bullet hole in a widow of the home. A total of three people were in the home at the time of the shots being fired, however, there were no injuries.

This incident remains under investigation by the Delaware State Police.
