Troopers Investigating Newark Area Pharmacy Robbery

Newark, DE- Delaware State Police are currently investigating the robbery of a Newark area pharmacy

The incident occurred at approximately 4:45 p.m., Friday, September 2, 2016, as a male suspect entered the Rite Aid Pharmacy located at 25 East Chestnut Hill Road. The suspect approached a male clerk who was standing behind the pharmacy sales counter. He presented him with a demand note for medication. The note implied that the suspect was armed, however, a weapon was not displayed. The clerk complied with the demand and turned over an undisclosed amount of various medications. The suspect then exited the store and was last seen fleeing in an unknown direction. There were no injuries.

The suspect was described as a white male, 5’05”- 5’07” tall, 160-180 lbs., with a mask covering his face (No further physical or clothing description).

There are no video surveillance photos available to be released at this time.
