Investigation Leads to the Arrest of a Dover Man Following a String of Burglaries

Woodside, DE- The Delaware State Police arrested a suspect in connection with a series of burglaries to churches and several commercial businesses in the Woodside area.

The investigation into the incidents began around August 3, 2016 and continued through August 23, 2016 as troopers received 13 reports of churches and commercial businesses located throughout Felton, Magnolia, Dover and Woodside began experiencing break-ins. During the crimes, the suspect would remove money and food items. As the detectives continued to look into the rash of burglaries, information obtained through investigative measures connected Jason L. Faulkner, 30 of Dover, as the suspect in these incidents. Additionally, Faulkner had an active warrant from Sussex Halfway House reference absconding from Level 4 Probation.

On August 25, 2016 at approximately 0330 hours, troopers in the area of Woodside observed a suspicious subject prowling in the area of Arby’s. The subject was later identified as Jason L. Faulkner who was pushing a wheelbarrow and in possession of a backpack which contained items of stolen property from the multiple burglaries as well as burglar tools.

Jason L. Faulkner was transported to Troop 3 where he was charged with 11 counts of Burglary 3rd degree, Two counts of Attempted Burglary 3rd, One count of Theft Over $1500, eight counts of Theft Under $1500, 12 counts of Criminal Mischief Under $1000, 11 counts of Possession of Burglar Tools. He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 7 and committed to the Department of Corrections in default of $88,000.00 cash bond. (Mug shot attached)
