**Update-Passenger Dies** Troopers Investigate Single Vehicle Crash – Townsend

Townsend– The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit  is investigating a single vehicle crash that occurred Saturday afternoon sending two people to an area hospital.

The incident occurred around 3:45 p.m. Saturday August 6, 2016, as a Danielle R. Cain, 27 of Dover, was operating a 2001 Ford Escape southbound on SR1 in the area of Pine Tree Road.  For unknown reasons, the SUV entered the center median and overturned numerous times ejecting a 58-year-old front seat passenger from the vehicle.  The car came to a stop in the middle of SR1 northbound lanes.

Danielle Cain, who was properly restrained, was airlifted by State Police Aviation to Christiana Medical Center where she is currently admitted in critical condition.

Jonese Y. Seymore, 58 of Dover, was not properly restrained and was transported by EMS to Christiana Medical Center where she was admitted with undetermined injuries.  She died a few hours later from the injuries she sustained in the crash.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing their investigation into this incident and no charges have been filed at this time.  It is unknown at this time if alcohol was a contributing a factor.  Traffic was impacted for approximately two and a half hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.
