Townsend– The Delaware State Police are investigating a single vehicle crash that occurred this afternoon sending two people to an area hospital.

The incident occurred around 3:45 p.m. Saturday August 6, 2016, as a Danielle R. Cain, 27 of Dover, was operating a 2001 Ford Escape southbound on SR1 in the area of Pine Tree Road.  For unknown reasons, the SUV entered the center median and overturned numerous times ejecting a 58-year-old front seat passenger from the vehicle.  The car came to a stop in the middle of SR1 northbound lanes.

Danielle Cain, who was properly restrained, was airlifted by State Police Aviation to Christiana Medical Center where she is currently admitted with undetermined injuries.

Jonese Y. Seymore, 58 of Dover, was not properly restrained and was transported by EMS to Christiana Medical Center where she was admitted with undetermined injuries.

Troopers are continuing their investigation into this incident and no charges have been filed at this time. Traffic was impacted for approximately two and a half hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.
