Troopers Investigate Grocery Store Robbery

Bear, DE- Delaware State Police are currently investigating the armed robbery of a Bear area grocery store that occurred early last night.

The initial investigation has determined that the incident occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Monday, July 5, 2016, as a male suspect entered the Food Lion, located at 1607 Pulaski Highway, Bear. The suspect entered into a checkout lane of the store where he then produced an unknown make and model handgun and confronted a female cashier. He then demanded and received an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register before exiting the store and fleeing in an eastbound direction. There were no injuries.

The suspect was described as an unknown race male. He was 5’08”-6’00” tall, weighed 175-200 lbs., and was last seen wearing a long sleeved black t-shirt, black pants, brown boots, and a full motorcycle helmet. There is no further physical or clothing description available.
